How to Make Removable Waist Chain with Clasp – Using Orion Micro Welder mPulse – Jewelry Tutorial
I filmed myself making a removable sterling silver waist chain, using sterling silver beaded satellite chain and the Orion Micro Welder mPulse
The client chose the chain and wanted it in 925 silver. She looks great in silver as she tans in the summer. I added a clasp to the waist chain to make it removable. Pool water and sun block will tarnish silver, so now it can be cleaned.
While I love the look of oxidized silver, however, not everyone does. I decided not to do a permanent chain by welding it closed without a clasp.
Note – I welded the jump rings closed because she’s very active and not delicate. The jump rings would open easily where there is a lot of movement particularly if it is a body chain. Rather than say a necklace or earrings. If you don’t weld or solder, simple wire wrapping would work perfectly!
