Because dapping reshapes rather than removes metal, it preserves the surface integrity, an essential benefit for materials like gold filled.
During production, the chain’s link dimensions may vary slightly, usually within ±5% to account for compression, stretching, or normal wire gauge differences. For instance, a 2.00 mm link may measure between 1.90 mm and 2.10 mm. As a result, some recommended jump rings may fit more tightly than others. However, the end link will always accommodate a 26ga jump ring.
