What is a Huggie?: A Huggie is an Innovative creation from Amoracast! Prong set your favourite stone with ease.
How to Use: A great solution for setting irregular stones. Hold the stone down in place in the midst of the prongs. Using the side of a pair of pliers or metal object, push each prong closer around the stone, starting from the bottom. It is best to work on each prong a little bit, rotating them, so that they are evenly tightened while the stone is kept in place. After you have closed the prongs, almost completely, trim the prongs as you wish. Often the stone is irregular in shape and you have prongs that seem shorter. The final trim makes them visually even and attractive. You can then file the prongs to a point, by filing the sides, or rounded before the final closing. A loop is created at each end for connecting. For a pendant, simply fold up one end and add a jump ring to the top.
The maximum size 12x12mm (5mm high).
Amoracast Gold: Our exquisite Amoracast collection features 14kt yellow gold plated over solid 925 silver, each piece stamped with the mark of authenticity .925. With a gold plating thickness of around 0.5 micron, we’ve perfected a process that adds a protective coating, similar to a ceramic glaze, ensuring durability and preventing tarnishing. While our plating may be thinner than the standard 2 microns required for gold vermeil labeling in the USA, our meticulous craftsmanship promises longevity beyond measure. Depending on your country’s regulations, you may choose to describe these treasures as 14kt Gold Plated Sterling with Protective Coating.
