A protective coating, much like a ceramic glaze, is then baked on – making it highly durable against wear and tear, and will prevent future tarnish. Although the plating is thinner than the requisite 2 microns in order to be labeled gold vermeille in the USA, our labour intensive process is far more durable and tarnish resistant than a 2 micron plating.
