Tarnish Resistant Coating: This chain has been treated with a hypoallergenic molecular bonding process that will help your sterling silver resist tarnishing. It protects against in stock oxidation – UV rays while on display, while in storage and from customers trying on the pieces. This treatment will keep your sterling silver bright longer but still allow you to solder or chemically oxidize the chain.

How Dapped Chains Are Made:
Dapped chains begin as standard machine-made chains, such as cable or curb styles. These chains pass through precision steel rolling stamps called dapping tools, which mechanically flatten—or “dap”—one or both sides of each individual link. This process adds a mirror-like shine or a delicate faceted texture, all without using cutting tools to shape the metal. Because dapping reshapes rather than removes metal, it preserves the surface integrity, an essential benefit for materials like gold filled.
During production, the chain’s link dimensions may vary slightly, usually within ±5% to account for compression, stretching, or normal wire gauge differences. For instance, a 2.00 mm link may measure between 1.90 mm and 2.10 mm. As a result, some recommended jump rings may fit more tightly than others. However, the end link will always accommodate a 26ga jump ring.
