Beading hoops are useful and versatile, in today’s video I’m making a pair of earrings using micro-faceted watermelon tourmaline. This beading hoop is tempered and holds its shape, I’m using the 25 mm hoop and what I’m going to do is tread the tourmaline onto the hoop.
Be aware that with some of the Indian cut micro-faced stones, the holes are very small, so take that into consideration when purchasing. After threading the stones on, take a pair of pliers and bend the tip slightly so it fits easily into the beading hoops hole. I’m going to pull the end out a little further and bend it into a loop. Lastly, slide the earring hook through the loop and squeeze to close. If you want to add a wire wrapped briolette drop to your design all you need to do is attach it to the hoop with a jump ring while threading the stones on. You can add stones all the way along the hoop, I’ve stopped part way but it will look great either way! Watch the video:
